   Bike count

I keep trying to ONLY buy the really low mile (and mint) bikes, but

seems some circumstance comes along every now and then (or even a

cheap "parts" bike (which I'll never get around to parting out).

Storage is a HUGE problem for me, and I have the bikes in many

locations now. I don't have time or availability to keep all of them

running, and I'm really planning on sellikng 1/2 of them one of these

days....As I've said before, I'd like to get my collection down to

only ones that have under 10K miles (which is at least 15 bikes).

I have 4 R/W/B bikes, and all of the pieces to change one of them over

to a R/O/B bike if desired....One is only 7K miles, one is 10K, one

14K, and the one I rode last has 28K....I stopped riding the 38K bike

when I got a nail in the tire, and haven't been able to get it off,

and replaced (easier to park it in the back, and ride a different

bike).

I STILL need an NOS RWB gas tank for the 7K mile bike, and it'll be

AMAZING condition. I also still need an NOS red '84 gas tank

decal.....Any help would be REALLY appreciated!

Thanks, Joe

So. Where are you so I can come buy one of these bikes with +10K miles to
start a collection of my own. Seems our goals are in order. I help you with
your problem of storage and goal of selling bikes over 10K.

$4,000 for a wrecked bike with a salvage title and +34,000 miles? They

didn't make the RWB in '84 so we know it's been painted. This is a $1000 to

$1500 bike. $4K would be high for a mint condition less than 10K miles

bike.

Luggage rack for a Nighthawk cb650 will fit a Nighthawk 700s?

Thanks.

small collection. Probably be downsizing soon.

Allen, I spent a couple of hours on the bike this afternoon with no

resolution. There is no power to the brake lights, horn or the turn

signals. The running lights work as they should. I replaced the

left handle bar controls, the fuse block, tried to trace the green

and white wire but my electrical skills are less than fundamental. I

would think you are right - that the white and green is grounded

somewhere. I should be able to trace that by using an ohm meter

shouldn't I? Any ground from the white and green should show no

resistance when I connect to ground from the w/g, Graham

Allen, I don't think this is the right diagram. The fuses on my '84

CB650SC that I'm working on are 15A not 10, Graham

Correct, if you are getting continuity to ground you have a short. I
would also check for high resistance from the horn, brake wires to the fuse
block just in case the wire is burned or cut.

Ack, I'll look for a different one online, but do you have a shop
manual/haynes/clymer diagram? It does sound like the colors are at least
correct.

My first thought was the battery too, but even after charging, no change.

I'll try jumping it off the car to see if that works, but I would think

fresh off the charger (showing fully charged, btw), it would turn over? As

for grounds, Are you thinking there may be some corrosion?

Just because a battery has voltage does not mean it has amperes. I bet if
you put a volt meter on when you crank the starter the voltage will drop
dramatically. Yes check both battery ground and engine ground cables for
corrosion. I'd use an ohm meeter and test for resistance which should be 0 for
both cables.
