(not a trickle charger), batteries last a lot longer (5 years on some
of my bikes. This is because they start to sulfate when the voltage
drops below 13.3. Sulfation kills a battery, Graham

Nighthawks b/c of the limited output of the alternator.
Here's something to think about with regards to batteries in
general:
they need to b active/activated a few times each month. Sitting
idle can
weaken a cell or even kill the battery.
