When I bought my NH 750, I had to bring it home about 90 miles in the back of my F-150. Besides using 6 ratcheting tie downs, I also built a jack (for lack of a better term) to hold the front wheel in place in the truck bed. I used a couple old 2x4's I had lying around. It actually worked so well (surprise to me) that it would hold the bike upright without either kickstand or anu straps. It made ratcheting the straps much easier, and you didn't have to worry about the bike sliding out for under you while tightening down or traveling. I actually kept the jack for future use, so if you are intersted in building one yourself I'll take some pictures and post them. The whole thing probably cost less than $5.00, even today.
