DMV does that here too.  But my scenario would have been  riding thru
several communities without plates to get to the DMV.

One, in particular, has the rep for raising revenue the first week of
every month by prowling for chickensh*t traffic violations (at a $100+
a pop).

Most local law enforcement around here is well-trained and
professional, but we still have pockets where the stereotypical pot-
bellied sheriff's deputies reign.

My plan was to avoid:

"Boy, ah say boy...how cum y'aint got no tags on that there vee-
hickle?
