So the rebuild is complete. Lots of rusty chrome still, but she runs well enough to drive me to work yesterday and today. I ran home for lunch today and realized I had some brake fluid leaking out of the reservoir and half way home the motor seemed to get much rougher over a few minutes of riding, and then was threatening to stall at traffic lights afterwards. I decided to drive the car back after lunch and park the bike back in the garage again until I can resolve the brake leak and get the motor purring nice and smooth again (I'm guessing some residual rust from the tank got by my fuel filter, or perhaps some gunk broke free in the carb and is gumming something up). All in all though it was great to get it on the road for a couple days at least :-/ . I'm thinking about getting a new braided brake line for the front if I'm going to replace the reservoir and rebuild the cylinder with new components again. Anybody have a source for replacement stainless brake lines?
