All,
Some of you already heard that I rolled the bike (1978 Suzuki
GS-1000 with Windjammer SS Fairing and hard Vetter bags) out of the
shed last Sunday - pleasantly surprised to find that it fired right
up. I was disappointed to find however that I had no headlight, tail
light or marker lights. Obviously, one can't ride with that situation
(safely) so I began troubleshooting.
A very long (from Sunday afternoon until yesterday evening)
story made short - the fuse holder holding my headlight / tail light /
marker light fuse had all the solder melted away from one end of it. I
have no idea what caused this or why it manifested only after the
winter, but a bit of solder - and things were good.
A big shout out to my Cousin Mike for actually finding the
problem as I was slowly tearing the bike apart to get at the
electrical system and for the use of his butane fired soldering iron.
(No power in my shed.....)
Put about 15 miles on it last night - rode to work this morning.
         Live is good!
          -Joey
