Paul, One comment I read said you can not get away from the bike if there is
a wreck, that that would be pretty bad. Also in a read end accident there
would be back injury, but I think that may be better than being run over.
But thank you for you comments, I have my mind set on a backrest.

Honestly I've never heard anything about liabilities. I think I've had three
bikes with driver's backrests and NEVER felt that it compromised my safety
or the bike's handle-ability.
