I wanted to share with the group that I have a Gmax wrap around helmet. It whistled pretty good till I got the ST1300. I put the shield all the way up and the whistling stops. I know they say that the shield should be mounted below eyesight. However if you want to get rid of the whistling, that should be an option. If you were willing to experiment and look through the plexiglas I think the whistling would stop. When I was looking at the used Concours in Omaha, they had one with an extension on it. I asked the sales guy what it was, and he said and after market extension.
On the two ST's I would go for the newer one as well. The Corbin seat is great and it just looks like it is well cared for. That is really what matters on a used bike. You don't want to be wondering what the previous guy did when you are on a trip. I love my ST.
