So, in hunting for parts for the 650, I've been comparing parts costs
across online vendors and the local dealer's parts list. Interestingly
enough. Most recently I've been pricing all the seals and gaskets and other
wear-out-ables in the front forks (with the anti-dive system). The parts
that are still available will cost me seven dollars LESS to order them
through my dealer's parts department versus ordering from Service Honda,
and a FIFTEEN dollar savings versus some place like BikeBandit. Add in that
I don't have to pay for shipping ordering through the dealer.

Anyone else have a "counterintuitive" experience like this? A place where
the much maligned "stealership" actually gives a better service than an
independent or online vendor?
