Hadn't started the 750 since I swapped the tins from my old parts bike (to black from yeller) several months ago. Then bought the Wing and have been playing around with it lately, so the NH has been sittin' up neglected.
Battery was also toast so I bought a new AGM and installed it. New battery's impressive. 220 CCA at a nice, crisp pace, but no go...hmmm...kill switch is off, kickstand's up, petcock's on...what's goin' on here? Took off the seat and noticed the gas tank hold down bolt was loose in its fitting. That's a little trick I use on dissassembly to keep track of fasteners until I'm ready to put things back together. So, checking to see what else was loose, discovered I had not reconnected the fuel line and vacuum hose, back when I swapped tanks. That's when I noticed the spreading puddle of gas on the floor under the bike (!). Spill wiped up, hoses reconnected and sputter, sputter...vroom! At least I had the good sense back then to add a liberal dose of Seafoam. Sometimes I have presence of mind...and sometimes I just don't. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Nighthawk Motorcycle Lovers!" group.
