Pre-'96 actually. My '95 was silver. My '96 is black. The decal lettering on the side covers is in script (handwritten-style penmanship) also, which denotes an earlier model. Not sure what year the switch was, but my '96 has block lettered decals.
It's definitely not a 2000 model.
