I have gone from the outcast with the Honda to the hero on the motorcycle. The Harley guys are now in awe of me.
Here at work, where the Harley guys were relentless in their ridiculing of my 1800 Vtx and my Night hawk, things have changed. we have limited parking here at work and the motorcycle guys have always parked in the handicapped parking area (we have an employee only door with two handicap spaces but zero handicap employees working here.) We would park in the lined off area next to the spots to same spaces for other employees. Apparently this has gone on for years. The other day, a lady on another shift parked next to one of the bikes, but parked so close she could not open her door. She then complained about the bikes and we have now been banned from the parking spots. This is where I have become the hero. From a year or so ago when I had back surgery, I have a permanent handicapped placard. I have parked my bike in the spot next to her every day since, and she is livid, but can't do anything about it. The Harley boys are now rooting me on and testing me as one of their own. I know it is fundamentally wrong to abuse the handicap spot, but nobody will ever use it anyway. Even the plant manager is backing me up on this one. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Nighthawk Motorcycle Lovers!" group.
