Nate,  I have had plenty of 650 Maxims and keep an eye out for any in my area.  
I can't think of any particular flaws.  The engines are real solid, 5 speed 
only however. They have the same issues as the Nighthawks of the 80's - fork 
seals, carb maintenance - cleaning (inline 4), hydraulic brakes. They do not 
have self adjusting valves so at 21k miles I would listen for chatter in the 
top end indicating the valves needing shimming.  I just looked at one this week 
that had done 28k miles and the valve noise was really loud.  How much is the 
asking price? Is it on CL that we could look at the bike?  Graham
