I have to agree. They look like mutants, radiation freaks. So many old bikes have such classic lines, it's a shame to wreck them, but each to his own. There's no right or wrong in design, just preferences. A purist would never have built a hot rod from an old Ford coupe, but they remind me of my teen years and make me weak in the knees. Bill S.
