My rear brakes started to squeak on my 750 NH, so I changed the shoes and it went away.
The front brakes squeaked terribly on my CB550K no matter what I did until I discovered it's the backs of the pads that cause the squeaks, not the pads themselves or the rotors. I sprayed the backs with some of that red sticky aerosol disk brake pad spray, let them set up a bit, and put them back in. That did the trick.
