Hi,I have a 82 450 Nighthawk,and yesterday it left me stranded at work 20 miles from home... I had got there around 3pm,everything was cool...left to go get something to eat lil after 6,and returned,no problems with my bike...but when,I go to leave,ignition flips and clicks to the on position,an normal,but no gage lights,no headlight nothing come on! I had replaced the battery not 3 days prior,so I knew it couldnt b that (was working fine for those 3 days). looked at my fuses,they were good. I tried looking at the wires (best I could at midnight),I tried moveing the handle bars,locking and unlocking the forks (taillight would come on just b4 the forks would lock) but nothing I did,worked!! I call for a ride and come back n the light,and tried looking again,and retaping the ignition wires that had been cut by some yahoo trying to steal the bike few months ago (thinking maybe it had lost its sticky n the Texas heat and wasnt makeing its connection) that didnt work eather...allso noticed,the key can b taken n and out of the ignition n the on position,any ideas what it might be!?? The ignition bad? Or something else???
