I would use the vest. I still have my yellow cortech jacket and I wear it with my maroon bike. I tell people I could see a difference with my yellow bike and they don't believe it. I am thinking about painting my ST, but it will have to be the right shade. Color is so much more effecting than loud pipes. And I would add, I had a dude do a u-turn in front of me when I was in a dark green Nissan Maxima. That should have been big enough to see, but the dark color didn't register in his mind.
