I've had a Visipath modulator on my headlight for years and can attest to its effect. I can't tell you how many times some jerk has noticed it at the last moment and jammed his brakes just before he was to left turn or pull out in front of me. It's never caused road rage, though sometimes cars ahead think I'm a cop and nervously slow up and try to look innocent. BTW, the modulator works only on either the high or low beam, but not on both, so turning it off is just a matter of switching beams, which I do on group rides so as to not bother riders in front of me. Well worth the $60 it cost on eBay.
