Did it have old gas in the tank? If so you just ran a bunch of varnish through your carbs, so go get some seafoam and run it through the next two or three tank fulls. Also if you figuratively run the crap out of it, you will do so litterally as well. Wind it up and roll off throttle so it has some serious engine breaking action going on, this make the vacuume go really high and it wil help to suck any crud out of the carbs. Other things to check would be the condition of the air filter, clogged fuel filter and petcock.
