Also, more than one person has suggested trying out a 750 Shadow as a good
upgrade, and since I'm about to make my last payment on Gladys tomorrow,
actually, I'll be free to look around sometime this summer for an upgrade.
I'd love to stick with Hondas - I've really enjoyed my Nighthawk, but more
power is a must. I rode about an hour and a half east of town a couple
weeks ago and every time I turned onto a road with a posted speed limit of
65 or 70 I groaned audibly. The top comfortable speed for Gladys is
currently around 45...which seems awfully low, but she just gets all whiny
and awful sounding. Could this just be my particular bike, or is that just
how small engines sound when you push them? After about 40 mph, I'm out of
power and just trying to build momentum is terrifying. Also, it was a windy
day. *shudders* I had sunburned wrists and seriously elevated cortisol
levels after the trip. Never again.
