That is true if the floats are old style, on my 92 they were plastic 
non-adjustable type and could only be installed one way. I'm not sure about the 
700s.

if that doesn't work its possible you put something in backwards when you 
reassembled the carbs.
when I rebuilt the su carb on my previous bike to the one I have now I did 
that, its a pretry easy fix
