There's something to be said for scooters. I got tired of hauling my 500 lb NH (or worse, my 2500 lb chariot) out every time I needed a grocery item, so I bought a 2010 150 cc Chinese Qlink scooter with under 1800 miles on it. Cost me $600. It's reliable (yes, I know about Chinese junk, and I don't mean the ship type. but so far, so good for nearly 1K miles), 60 mph quick, and gets 85 mpg. It's also cheap fun. I'd stay away from 50cc units which can't get out of their own way, but you might want to try something like this. It sure expanded my concept of two-wheeling.
