I recently bought a set of 1" up, 1" back risers for my '96 750 Nighthawk. I wanted 1" up, 2" back, but the brake hose will not allow it. I even had to rotate the handlebars slightly up in the direction of the front of the bike to put on the 1" risers. This makes the grips a little more parallel to the ground and further raises your wrists.
Was it worth it? Absolutely! I find the bike 100% more comfortable now. A minimum of effort made a world of difference, at least to me.
