You could have a stuck choke plunger. When that happens fuel bypasses the 
plunger needle and exits the carb on the intake side of the butterfly. Idle 
your bike and when it happens shut down and pull the plugs look for black soot.

Please advise.  I ride in NYC traffic, lot of stop and go City traffic. 
Lately I am noticing when I stop in the traffic, my bike accelerates by 
itself  ( the RPM gauge / tachometer goes to 3x 4x when I am stopped in the 
red light.  Not sure what is happening. Getting worried. Please help / 
advise. Thank you all.
