Nice work! I always thought the parking lot stuff was the hardest; riding on the roads at 55 mph was really a no-brainer. I did all the same stuff as well, practicing in an empty parking lot by my apartment. One thing I worked on that sounds similar to you was carefully finding the braking threshold for the front and rears - I would ride to like 10 mph in a straight line, and see how hard I had to squeeze /just/ the front or /just/ the rear before it would lockup. Basically I found out that the front for my 83 650 I can squeeze the front as hard as i need to, but the rear will lock up pretty easily (which isn't very good).
Doing each one individually helped me to understand how to "balance" the brakes throughout a braking cycle. I would also do the parking lot stuff for a bit, then run around a few city streets and come back. Your brain needs time to rest and think about it. - JO On Aug 13, 2013, at 21:12 PM, Erin Newkirk wrote: > Hi All! > > Got my temps, insurance, tags today.
