Something I did with the Goldwing I had was similar was to use the Yamaha
carb cleaner. Is a similar trick but you are not supposed to run the engine
with that, because is much more aggressive than Seafoam. First you empty
the bowls completely. Then you need to make a mixture of gasoline and the
carb cleaner which you will feed through the gas line by cranking the
engine but with the kill switch off so it won't start. Then you let it sit
for a couple of hours, empty the bowls again, put some gas, and start the
engine. On the GL this made a huge difference and it save me from removing
the carbs.
