1.Usually about 2 turns on the idle screw from when it makes contact with the stop. Really that depends on the vacuum sync, that's my baseline when I do a bench sync. 2.If the plungers are stuck open than they are bound up with crud. Pull and clean the carbs. 3.You will have to prop it up with something under the front of the engine. You should notice there is some weight on the front tire. 4.That depends on how much time you can devote to the work. Fork seals are about a 2 hour deal unless the circlips are rusted to where you can't get them out. Carbs usually take me about 2 hours to pull, clean, and reinstall provided I'm not breaking them off the rack. Sent via BlackBerry by AT&T

Well...she turns over but I haven't been able to get her to actually start...I do have a couple questions at this point... 1. *Idle Turn Screw* - all the way open...all the way closed...somewhere in the middle? 2. *Choke* - I used to open the choke to start her up and then close it when she was warmed up and I was ready to go...FYI: she hasn't started in about 2-3 years ...and now it seems the choke plungers (that's what I call them) are stuck open!!!...doesn't matter whether the lever is up or down...the plungers are pulled up and won't do down...any suggestions? ...and PLEASE don't tell me I have to remove the carbs again...I've done it once but I'd really hate to have to do it again... 3.* Front fork seals*: currently she is up on the centerstand...if I remove the front wheel and forks will she remain balanced on the centerstand? or will I have to jack her up some other way? 4. How long will all this take? to get her up and running I mean? Thanks -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Nighthawk Motorcycle Lovers!" group.
