Garrett, I have been working on bikes & cars since 1974. If this is really your "first" bike, I recommend that you first obtain the owner's manual for the bike and read it cover-to-cover before doing anything else. There are MANY things you need to know before riding or servicing a motorcycle these days. If you are going to do ANY work on a motorcycle you must have appropriate skills, knowledge, service manuals, facilities, tools, etc. Otherwise, you are taking a lot of risks. Tim
