Are you running it off a bottle of gas or from gas from the tank? I once had a situation where the filter on the petcock was dirty. It would slowly drain gas into the carb bowls to start the bike, but the trickle was not enough to keep the bike running, so it would die. Just needed to remove the petcock from the tank, clean it, replace. That's one possible solution, but only if you're running it from the gas tank.
