I think when I did Jason's I did an initial setting of 2 1/2 turns out but I had to richen it up more. Usually they end up around 3 turns out. Set the idle to 1500 RPM then adjust richer 1/4 turn each carb then lower the idle back to 1500. Repeat this until rpms stop rising. That should get you close. You can introduce an air leak via removing the sync port screw if you need to know if your initial setting is lean or rich. If lean an air leak will lower RPM, rich it will rise.
