Did you disassemble the starter switch to clean it or just squirt some fluid around the button? I'd start there then clean the connectors to the pod. Check resistance to be sure the switch is working properly. If the solenoid is getting voltage when you press the button and it doesn't buzz or start the starter motor then it is probably bad. If the starter is bad then it should buzz the solenoid. Either way they are pretty simple to remove and clean the commutator and check for a short in the windings. Just be sure that you get the starter housing aligned properly or it won't work. Use a sharpie to mark a line accross the end caps and the housing to ensure you get it right. I'll park it go to work or be off of it for a few hours go back out to get on it and it won't start at all, I jiggle the button nothing no clicking, no sound or anything. the headlight and gauge lights dim when I push the button, get brighter when I release the button but no start. Or some times I jiggle the button for a few mins and it will eventually start... The battery has a full charge, and is only 2 month old trugel matinance free, ive cleaned all battery posts, and used some electrical contact cleaner on the switch and a few of the connectors into the main wireing harness, still same results as above, its a hit or miss if the bike will start on me. Any ideas what the problem might be??? Starter? Solenoid? Starter switch? Any help is help to me, as this is my only mode of transportation and ive gotta get the bike back up and running so I can get around and to and from work -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Nighthawk Motorcycle Lovers!" group.
