I recently got the Vololights installed on my bike. I'll give you
the short version - in my short test ride with my wife driving behind me -
she reported that the lights directly impacted her attention to what I was
doing.
I'll give you the short version - the Vololight is a license plate
bracket with intelligence. With an internal speed sensing capability the
lights automatically flash when the bike decelerates - with or without the
brakes being used. If you decelerate harder, the lights flash faster.
The cost is not high - $99 when purchased direct from the company.
If it saves your life or saves you from getting rear ended - it will be
well worth the cost. The hookup is easy - remove your existing plate light
and use the positive and negative wires to feed the two wire hookup to the
Vololight. The LED plate light built into the Vololight works perfectly
well.
This should be a bolt on to most stock motorcycles - I would think
the Nighthawks would be (mostly) perfect candidates.
