Thanks a ton for all the advice. Is that O ring a size that I can easily find at AutoZone, etc.? I have a good stop in a couple of days where I can take the time to work on it... as long as I'm fairly confident that I won't disable it. The vacuum tip is brilliant, I will definitely do that (assuming I can find a shop vac).
