What Paul and others have shared is spot on. I'd only add the age and tread
left on the tires. There's a 4 digit "Born On" date on the tire side walls
that you can look for.

I would also encourage you to find one that has the center stand which is
great for those times you need to service the bike (i.e. oil changes).
Engine guards and backrest would also be nice to have as well.

These Nighthawks are great bikes. They look good, easy enough to service
and have a reputation for reliability.

I recently purchased a '92 NH 750 with 48k miles for $1200. It sat for over
a year, does not have a center stand, the plastics have been repainted OK,
not great. I'll need to replace the tires. But it did run, went through all
the gears well but stumbled badly when cold and moderately when warmed up.
Right now I have the carbs out to clean. I'll also have to go through the
other fluids. In retrospect I should have passed and looked for something
that was in better running and cosmetic condition even if I would have paid
more. But, I'll use this as an opportunity to learn about the bike as I fix
it since I have the luxury of being retired.

I hope you find one and let us know when you do.
