Melissa,

I can only imagine the sense of adventure and independence you experienced.
You are definitely not a “please, someone take care of me” person. If I was 40
years younger I would ask for your phone/address! Continue to travel and
express your freedom , adventure, and wonder, and give thanks to those that
made the ultimate sacrifice for us all to be free!

Gene

Good gracious, and I thought my gear was piled high! I love it! That's quite a
distance to clock in a month. I took 3 weeks for my 3100 miles. The desert was
really something special for me too. The Extraterrestrial Highway in Nevada is
150 miles between gas stations. I rode there underneath a brilliant moon
(literally, I was reading a book by it!) and stopped halfway, as far from
civilization as I could get. There I danced under that amazing cold light, took
a hike, gazed at the stars. When finally I decided I had to rest, I laid down
next to my bike and had an amazingly difficult time falling asleep; it was so
beautiful I couldn't bear to close my eyes. That was the last night of my road
trip.
