I rebuild carbs all the time, and basically if you are careful during disassembly you won't need rebuild kits. Most kehin carbs use an o-ring based bowl gasket which 99% of the time doesn't leak if reused. For the jets I strip a piece of stranded copper wire and poke them open, then throw the jets into a can of Berrimans. Spray cleaner and compressed air to the carb body passages takes care of the rest.
