The PO of my 700S broke a handful of studs and drilled/tapped some larger
ones in there. This sounds like a great idea until you realize that the
holes in the collars that slide over the studs won't accommodate a larger
diameter stud and you find yourself drying to drill them out. If you take
this approach, take my advice, make sure the collar is drilled out enough
to *easily* slide on/off the stud. If you have to force it you'll just
smush the soft aluminum collar down into the threads of the hardened steel
stud and nothing shy of the Hand of God will ever get that collar off
again.
