You are right Glen, Mac is based on FreeBSD, which is based in Unix and took a form very similar to Linux. In fact, I now use a Mac laptop for work and I can essentially do everything I do in Linux (plus watch netflix :D ). Differences are small enough so I can live with it.
Allen, you are right about the support, but that's true for companies where they actually paid for it. The places I am talking about do not really use that support, but I guess IT guys have been trained to follow that rule. I worked for SuSE back in Venezuela, and I always liked it more because that choose to follow the Debian standard rather than creating a new one, as RH did. Javier.
