This early evening (right around dinner time) my wife and I went out for a
ride on my GL1500 to a nearby State Park called Farewell Bend about 25
minutes north of where we live on Interstate 84. As we left the park on our
way home and before we got onto the freeway, I turned around to remark to
my wife that we were passing from Pacific back to Mountain time and I
swerved ever so slightly to the right. Because there was absolutely no
shoulder I found myself running off the road and into very loose gravel. (I
was probably going around 40 MPH.)

Honestly I have NO IDEA how I held on. I truly thought we were going down
because the road side quickly went downhill, but just when I thought we
were going down I popped back up onto the roadway. MAN was my heart beating
fast!!

This is not the first time I've had a potential accident reverse itself
rather abruptly. I think I have a guardian angel.
