Got one in my garage, it is my buddy Jason's. They don't have the top end
speed like the 83-85, the bars are more cruiser like, and they are chain
drive, but otherwise a very similar riding experience. Just be careful when
ordering parts as the Nighthawk has larger forks, different brakes, and
such from the standard CB650, and the aftermarket doesn't seem to know it
and advertizes that things fit but actually don't. Also the 82 needs
regular valve adjustments, however they are a simple thing to do since it
has adjustable rockers. Lastly Jason's bike would sputter at high RPM it
turned out that it was starving for air despite having stock jetting, so
removing the airbox lid totally cured that. I like the bike, it is
especially suited for around the town or back roads cruising.
