Allen, I think a lot of the perceived looks is the perfect up right position that the 2 level seat makes the rider sit in. I learned from my first Nighthawk on how to fill the dip in the seat up with pads and cover it up with a long pad (3 pads total.)
And I really don't like the metallic green color either, but the new metallic white looks much better. The white paint on the $13K VFR 800 was beautiful, almost like a pearl-metallic white. I assume, without seeing this one up close (and under fluorescent lamps), that it is similar. White metallic colored motorcycles are "in" now. Once the dorky 90 degree sitting posture is remedied by a more continuous angled sitting posture, it looks much better. It wins on the shootout comparisons despite the fixed cramp stock seating position and won 2008 and 2009 motorcycle design awards. From a value-engineer's perspective: Cost, USD forks, innovative single rear shock, economical dual upright cylinders that are also the best for handling, "big four" Japanese quality, nice fairing/electronic dash cluster, and an engine torqued down for midrange in city that still puts out respectable hp (really necessary adaptation for EFI bikes imo - who needs to do 80 mph before it gets into throttle range?) It is a Super Moto 17" matching wheel wheelie popping monster: although my first bike Kaw 400 triple broke me of those (I think.) Now if it only had hydraulic valves :-( On Sunday, November 30, 2014 5:33:14 AM UTC-8, Allen wrote: > > Too bad they are so horribly ugly bikes.
