With careful observation and experience, you should be able to extrapolate acceptable MPH indication by counting tongue flaps, confirmed by inflation of cheeks.... (facial cheeks...... facial cheeks.....) wait. wait. A pitot tube off an air plane air speed indicator, coupled to the the anus of the dog, and THEN measure inflation.......... butt be “prepared” when you slow down.......... would the dog be in front of you??? Never mind.........

This is my dog and my ex. She was used to being around running bikes and had ridden a lot in a convertible, so she took to the sidecar really well. He took out the seat and put a dog bed inside. He also took a doggie seatbelt (meant for cars) and attached it so she can't jump out. Of course they had to have matching goggles. :) At first he just encouraged her (read: treats) to jump in the sidecar. He let her get out whenever she wanted. Later they would do it while the bike was running. Then he buckled her in and took her on a little ride. Absolutely no drama.
