Rusty cylinders from sitting can wear the rings. Do you have black plugs? Also you would be leaving a black cloud behind you if you were burning a quart every 100 miles. Have you done a compression test? Also how oily is the chain? You can loose oil from the drive sprocket seal and not easily notice it. Otherwise look for oil on the bottom of the engine, bottom of the cylinders, at the head gasket, and the valve cover.
