thanks allen very much.im gonna get in there and start fooling with it as 
soon as the weather cooperates.i dont have a shop or anywhere to work on 
the bike right now.ill likely replace the solenoid since they are cheap and 
rebuild the starter anyway as i doubt its ever been serviced since the bike 
came off the production line.
