You would end up super weary if you tried it around here. Maybe it's lower population density; maybe it's less interest in Japanese bikes back in the 80's, but there are a lot more bikes up there than down here, and they're cheaper there, too. (Or maybe the longer riding season wore them out down here.) Anyway, this explains why all of my old bikes had tags from northern states (my 550 is from Rhode Island), but now that both my parents are gone and I don't have much reason to go north, my bike buying is really down. I have to look up there on c/l just to have any fun. Remember when I found one of your bikes?
