I've tried to think of several different ways, but ultimately moved on to a different bike before anything materialized.
Mutazu makes a rear rack that fits, and I'm sure you could use that to hold the top and the existing rail on the frame under the tail to hold a lower brace. Use the Mutazu rack to supply your cross bike bracing, and you're good to go I'd think.
