If you put it on the work stand, engine off can you shift it by hand by rolling the wheel and pressing on the lever with your left hand? It should shift even with the clutch engaged. If it won't shift then you might have a piece of a cam chain guide stuck in the shift barrel, or a bent/broken shift fork.
