The original shocks on my 1995 CB750 finally failed after 141000 miles. I
guess I got my moneys worth... Would any of you have a pair of lowish
mileage Nighthawk shocks for sale? I know some people have substituted
aftermarket shocks.

For those that might be curious the failure mode was extreme stiction in
both rear dampers. The shocks could be compressed, but required incredible
force to rebound, so the bike acted like a hardtail. I managed to ride
home and cut one of the failed shocks apart out of curiosity. After so
many hard miles I expected a sludge filled mess, but the oil was still very
light in viscosity and was not even that dirty. The valve at the bottom of
the damper looked like new to me. The failure seems to be the seals at the
top of the damper. While they have not leaked a drop, the seals have
gottten so tight on the rod that the shocks are effectively jammed.

So if any of you have a set to sell please post me off list.

Thanks
