First clean and reassemble ALL connectors including all the bullet connectors in the headlight. Use dielectric grease on assembly. If that doesn't fix it. Try removing fuses to isolate the circuit that is making them heat up. Then trace with a multimeter and look for wires with high Ohm resistance over their length, and continuity to ground if it shouldn't have it, if it should check ohms to chassis or battery.
