I've had the side cover for my '97 250 off for a couple of weeks just
hanging there because I'm not sure of the removal process. I ordered what I
HOPED would be the right flywheel puller, having had difficulty finding the
correct info online.

THIS is the one which arrived at my door:
http://www.amazon.com/Motion-Pro-08-0027-Flywheel-M16X1-5/dp/B000WJC0U2

Out of the box, it doesn't look as though it'll thread into the hole of the
bolt on the engine. Can someone please help me out here by pointing me in
the right direction?

Bike's just sitting there. Simple bike, not so simple process.
